It’s been a little more than two weeks since “The Turk” delivered the abrupt news that I’d be out of a job, along with three other staff photographers, and three longtime editors at the newspaper I’d worked at for nearly 7 years here in New York. Ironically, that’s more time on staff at this paper than any other in my career. Where did the time go? There are so many memories. So many good assignments. So many good people I’d worked with and met out in the field amongst the public and readership. Travel & personal work. Now is not quite the time to reminisce though, more of just an acknowledgement here that the work continues. And that I continue to make good images. Here’s a few images I’ve made recently, including a wedding reception for friends (below) in a NYC warehouse that was transformed into a themed party, and a magazine assignment for RoadKing Magazine (bottom), only days after the layoffs. Stay tuned and thanks… ~cg.
